Voodoo Top Thunder in Extras, 9-6
|
Fans who congregated at Thunder Field were treated to extra-inning drama.
The New Orleans Voodoo overcame a good performance by Toronto third baseman Bob Davis to knock off Toronto, 9-6, in 12 innings at Thunder Field. Davis went 3-5 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. New Orleans reliever Victor Howell snagged the win, upping his record to 2-0. Bill Ramírez shouldered the loss.
This game was not decided until late. With no one out in the top of the 12th, Joe Madden drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Voodoo took the lead, 6-5.
"Exciting game to play in," said Madden. "Getting the win makes it even better."
Today's win puts New Orleans at 28-19, while Toronto falls to 26-21.
