The Baton Rouge Brass powered past the Syracuse Starks, 8-5, at Brass Field. Clint Sheffield provided some of the pop. Looney Tunes was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Will Gordon was called on to finish, recording his 6th save. The Brass, at 41-36, sit in 4th place in the Premier AAA.

The Brass took the lead in the bottom of the third when Iván Garza banged a two-out home run. Baton Rouge had been trailing 3-1, but Garza hit a 1-2 cutter from Kris Collins for a 3-run home run.

"It's nice to see a lot of guys make contributions," said Brass manager Luis Ruíz.
