Pajaritos Capture Close Win
The Norfolk Pajaritos defeated the Bakersfield Nobles, 4-3, at Jerome Grounds. Leading the charge for Norfolk was center fielder Ken Byrd. He hit 2 home runs. Ted Elkins closed it out for Norfolk, earning his 1st save. Norfolk now owns a record of 36-41.

Byrd had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-2 fastball from Nick Johnston, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Pajaritos a 3-2 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Byrd.

Byrd attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
