|
The Pennsauken Flyers powered past the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 8-5, at Pennsauken Park. Ty Riese went 3-3 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2, to lead the charge. Juan Pacheco went 5.2 innings for Pennsauken to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs. He scattered 5 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 4. His record improves to 3-3. Their 44-34 record puts the Flyers second in the Premier AAA.
Pennsauken designated hitter Jorge Ybarra contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 68th hit of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 4-1.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Pennsauken manager Dave Morse.
