The Bakersfield Nobles racked up a win at Jerome Grounds, bumping off the Norfolk Pajaritos, 4-3. Cordell Dawson, who started for Bakersfield, pitched effectively for his team. Bakersfield now sports a record of 43-35.

An inflection point occurred with one out in the bottom of the fifth. That's when Nobles left fielder Nelson McCullough hit a fastball from Tom Ferguson for a 2-run single. Just like that, Bakersfield was up, 4-3.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Dawson.
