Minch Slams 5 Hits for Ellenburg
|
Ellenburg center fielder Aloysius Minch had a big day at Dog Park in Ellenburg against the Bakersfield Nobles. The 23-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led to the 7-0 Fighting Dachshunds triumph over Bakersfield.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Minch said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Aloysius Minch singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
Minch has a .300 average and a .341 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 96 hits, 8 home runs and driven in 30 runs.
