Rainbeaus Get 6-5 Win Versus Sacramento
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus picked up a win at Wichita Field, dropping the Sacramento Redlegs, 6-5. Elton Brown was the difference-maker. In 7.1 innings, Brown surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 4. He allowed 4 runs. Kansas, at 52-28, is 7 games up in the Premier AAA.
Tied up with the Redlegs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Rainbeaus got a boost from first baseman Paul Sherman. With the bases loaded, Sherman saw a 1-1 curveball from Dustin Burgess and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Kansas on top, 4-2.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Sherman said.
