The Syracuse Starks got a superb performance from pitcher José Carmona, but the Montreal Machine still won the game, 6-5. Carmona threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Montreal reliever Gunnar Hamilton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-3. Mario Méndez was saddled with the loss. The Machine now own a record of 38-42.

In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 5-5, 26-year old third baseman Bo Young won it for Montreal. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Young hit a 2-0 fastball from Mario Méndez for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 6-5 win.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Young said after the game.
