Northern Virginia Dealt 8-4 Defeat
|
The Boston Patriots knocked off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 8-4, in United States Premier League action at Atlantica. Boston pitcher and Eau Claire, Wisconsin, native Aaron Daniels had an outstanding performance. Orlando Díaz got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. Boston is now 24-23.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 28-year old first baseman Víctor Sánchez. Sánchez had a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Patriots ahead, 6-4. For the game, Sánchez had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I was able to really locate my pitches tonight," said Daniels.
