The Bakersfield Nobles rode a solid performance from 31-year-old starting pitcher Francisco Encarnación to a win, beating the Sacramento Redlegs, 5-2, at Jerome Grounds. Jared Wilson, who leads the PAAA in saves with 21, nailed down the save. Bakersfield is third in the Premier AAA with a record of 46-36.

Mark Proctor was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Bakersfield. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a 2-run single off Tom Ward. It was his 26th hit of the season.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Proctor said after the game.
