Cattlemen Fall to Patriots Late
|
The 10-4 Boston win over Ft. Worth was due in large part to Ángel Soto. The Patriots second baseman was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Andy Harvey earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-1. The Patriots, at 29-18, lead by one game in their division.
Boston used the timely hitting of Will Johnson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Patriots on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Tyler Carter said.
