Pajaritos Come Up Short at Jersey City, 5-4
|
Jersey City Tritons starter Pablo Moreno found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Norfolk Pajaritos. Moreno, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 4 runs. Anthony Carney, credited with the save, is now 13 for 14 in save opportunities.
Had Jarrod Harris not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Harris hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Tritons.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Moreno.
With the win, Jersey City upped its record to 43-42.
