Carter King, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA in quality starts with 10, was locked in. The right-hander led the Kansas Rainbeaus to a 5-4 win against the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Mike McCauley was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 13 save opportunities. At 57-30, the Rainbeaus claim first place in the Premier AAA.

Kansas needed the clutch hitting of Larry Rothrock to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rainbeaus on top, 5-4. For the game, Rothrock had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We ground out the win," said Rothrock. "That's all that matters."
