Pajaritos Take Down Starks, 6-3
|
Norfolk took on Syracuse in front of a lively crowd.
Norfolk beat Syracuse on the strength of starting pitcher George Hill's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. The win makes Norfolk 42-45.
The Pajaritos got an important contribution from center fielder Ken Byrd, who in the bottom of the sixth knocked a 0-1 changeup to left for a run-scoring double. It was his 18th double of the season and put the Pajaritos ahead, 3-2.
"George did a nice job," said Pajaritos manager Phil Baker.
