The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds did just enough to secure a victory over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 6-5, in 10 innings at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Nobody did more than pitcher Kiyonaga Kondo. The win went to Ed Fox in relief. His record improves to 2-1. James Tucker took the loss. The 9th-place Fighting Dachshunds improved to 39-50.

The Fighting Dachshunds got a clutch hit from first baseman Rusty Howell. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Fighting Dachshunds.

"It's great when the crowd is energized," Howell said.
