Neil Herrera pitched well, but the Florence Flamingos still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Bakersfield Nobles at Florence Field. The Nobles improved to a lofty 69-21.

Nelson McCullough had a direct impact on the outcome. McCullough contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Bakersfield up, 3-2.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Bakersfield manager Timmy Appeldoorn.
