Boston Defeated By Rainbow Mermaids, 3-2
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids beat the Boston Patriots, 3-2. Northern Virginia pitcher and Dubuque, Iowa, native Chris Jackson led the way. Jackson picked up the win for Northern Virginia, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Rob Camp earned the save for Northern Virginia, his 5th.
Jing-zhong Ng was 2-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI for Northern Virginia. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Ng had a clutch at-bat. Facing Boston hurler Byron Cramphorn, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Rainbow Mermaids a 3-2 lead.
Jackson called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
With the win, the Rainbow Mermaids have a record of 23-25.
