Fighting Dachshunds Rally to Win
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds defeated the Baton Rouge Brass, 8-6, in part because of center fielder Willie Griffin. Griffin went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Fighting Dachshunds. Jesús Bojórquez, now 3-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 2 innings. Picking up the save was Darryl Brady, his 12th.

Ellenburg used the timely hitting of Kelsey Verbiest to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fighting Dachshunds on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt good up there," said Verbiest. "I saw the ball well."

The Fighting Dachshunds improved to 52-39.
