Brass Flatten Fighting Dachshunds, 11-2

Riding the 2-hit performance of the 28-year old left fielder Tom Windus, the Baton Rouge Brass defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds, 11-2. Jorge Carranza, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 4-3. The first-place Brass, at 57-34, now lead their division by 6 games.
Nick Everett had a big 2-run triple for the Brass in the bottom of the second inning. With Baton Rouge leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a knuckle curve from 38-year old right-handed pitcher Thomas Zachary and swatted a triple to right. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Brass ahead, 3-0.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Windus.
