The Bakersfield Nobles topped the Norfolk Pajaritos, 4-0, in USPL Triple A action at Jerome Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bakersfield pitcher Jim Everhart. In 5.1 innings, Everhart surrendered 9 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Bakersfield improves to 70-21 with the win. They lead their division by 17 games.

The Nobles got a big hit from left fielder Nelson McCullough. Facing Norfolk pitcher Doug Morgan in the bottom of the fifth, McCullough pounded a 3-run home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season put the Nobles ahead, 4-0.

"I like our moxie," said Nobles manager Timmy Appeldoorn.
