Brass Win 3-0 Walk-Off
|
The Baton Rouge Brass had to overcome a good performance from Jersey City pitcher Jorge Souza to claim a 3-0 win at Brass Field. Souza went 6 innings and allowed no runs. The Brass improved their record to 45-47 by beating Jersey City.
The decisive blow was delivered by Chris Veeck in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 35-year old right-handed pitcher Anthony Carney to win the game for Baton Rouge. The home crowd went nuts.
"Winning never gets dull," said Veeck.
