Jerome Grounds was the site for USPL Triple A action featuring the Jersey City Tritons and Bakersfield Nobles.
The Bakersfield Nobles faced a tough opponent in Jersey City pitcher Dennis Heath, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Jerome Grounds by a final score of 6-0. Heath went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. The Nobles now have a mark of 53-40.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Emílio Lozano had a game-changing hit. The Nobles left fielder slammed a 2-run single off Daniel Watson, making the score 3-0, Bakersfield.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Jersey City manager Steve Bryan.
