Yoshitaka Shinohara, who is tied for 5th in the PAAA in strikeouts with 100, never let the Brass get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Redlegs to a win, 5-1. With the win, Sacramento raised its record to 52-42.

Shinohara was effective for Sacramento, seldom allowing the Brass to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 114 pitches over 8.2 innings. He limited Baton Rouge to just 1 run on 4 hits.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Shinohara said.
