Brantley Hits 2 home runs in Squirrel Monkeys Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Kansas Rainbeaus and Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys get after it.

The performance of Foster Brantley proved critical in helping Syracuse beat Kansas, 9-7. The Squirrel Monkeys first baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. James Tucker was called on to finish, recording his 14th save.

The Rainbeaus had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Squirrel Monkeys going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old second baseman Nick Fortey came to the plate. Fortey hit a run-scoring double on a 1-1 changeup from Kansas hurler John Harris. It was Fortey's 16th double of the year.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Fortey.

Syracuse is now 50-44, while Kansas is 59-35.
