5 Straight Wins for Liberty
The Philadelphia Liberty cut down the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids by the score of 4-1, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Rhys Jeffes. Jeffes went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Liberty. The win was credited to 35-year old right-handed pitcher Claude Simon in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Brian Folger took the loss. The Liberty, now 5-0, have been playing some good baseball.

Philadelphia took a 3-0 lead on Jeffes's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Brian Folger in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Philadelphia to the win.
