Syracuse wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Bryant Clark, falling to the Calgary Lynx, 3-0. Clark threw 7.2 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Roberto Esparza nailed down his 5th save. Calgary leads the Premier AAA by 9½ games.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Brian Boyd to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lynx on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I felt we were ready to go," said Calgary manager Steve Duncan. "Our pregame was pretty good."
