Jersey City Doubles Up Syracuse, 8-4
|
Though he had a stellar game, Mike Hancock could not prevent his team, the Syracuse Starks, from losing, 8-4, to the Jersey City Tritons. Hancock went 4 for 4 with a triple and 3 singles, while scoring 2. Bob Ashley picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-3 on the season. He struck out 7 and walked 0 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 3 runs. Jersey City, at 37-59, holds down last place in the Premier AAA.
Making an impact for Jersey City was left fielder Leo Spaceman. Doctor drilled a 2-run double off Todd Johnson in the bottom of the first. For the game, Spaceman was 2-5 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Spaceman said after the game.
