The Pennsauken Flyers overcame a pretty good performance by Bakersfield catcher Steven Flowe, beating the Nobles, 6-5, at Jerome Grounds. Flowe went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Gerald Huff. He tossed 104 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 11 hits. The setback makes Bakersfield 72-24.

Michael Dixon drove in one run for Pennsauken. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jim Everhart. It was his 13th RBI of the season.

"The clubhouse can get insufferable after we lose, so I'm glad we pulled this one out today," Dixon told the Pennsauken Citizen.
