Syracuse got a big-time effort from pitcher Pete Scott, but it wasn't enough to keep the Kansas Rainbeaus from winning the game, 7-3. Scott threw 9.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win elevated the Rainbeaus to 61-35.

Kansas used a timely hit from Taco Pancake to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Rainbeaus ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

Said Syracuse manager Ramón Barrueco: "They did a lot of things right. We did a lot of things wrong."
