Flyers Slap 5-2 Loss on Hot Chickens
|
Behind the hitting of Jorge Ybarra, the Pennsauken Flyers stopped the Nashville Hot Chickens, 5-2. Ybarra was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Flyers. Wulf Hinkamp, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 6-3. Picking up his 2nd save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Adam Shirley.
Ybarra had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 cutter from Wendell Latham, he banged a grand slam home run to center, giving the Flyers a 4-1 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Ybarra.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Flyers manager Dave Morse.
Pennsauken now has a record of 55-43 with the win.
