Clemons Excels, But Starks Win
Port Huron catcher Joe Clemons was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Syracuse beat the Blitzkrieg, 14-10. O-jun Kun, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-4. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 11 hits and 7 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Mario Méndez sewed up the save, his 7th.
