Pajaritos Prevail, 4-2, Over Sacramento
|
The Norfolk Pajaritos picked up a win at Norfolk Field, knocking off the Sacramento Redlegs, 4-2. Starting pitcher Louis Bainbridge played a key role in the triumph. Bainbridge, now 5-7, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Norfolk now owns a record of 47-51.
Ken Byrd had a big solo home run for the Pajaritos in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Norfolk leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from Christos Waddington, who is tied for 7th in the PAAA with a 7.8 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Pajaritos on top, 4-2.
"Louis gave us a heck of an effort," said Norfolk manager Phil Baker.
