Colorado Defeats New Orleans, 7-2
|
Behind a solid performance from center fielder Bennett Walker, the Colorado Billy Goats defeated the New Orleans Voodoo, 7-2. Walker went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 for the Billy Goats. The Billy Goats improved their record to 24-25 with the win over New Orleans.
It could have been a different outcome for Colorado, had it not been for Phil Fields, the 24-year old first baseman . Fields contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Colorado up, 3-1.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Walker told the Colorado Chronicle.
