Redlegs Top Fighting Dachshunds in Extras, 4-2
|
Fans who congregated at Dog Park in Ellenburg were treated to extra-inning drama.
The Sacramento Redlegs used a stellar performance from pitcher Nick Stewart to throttle the Ellenburg offense en route to an extra-inning, 4-2 win at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Miguel Ortíz got the save, his 17th in 23 chances.
Sacramento needed the clutch hitting of Oliver Pérez to seal the deal. The designated hitter swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Redlegs on top, 4-2. For the game, Pérez had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Stewart.
The win elevated the Redlegs to 54-46.
