Redlegs Take Home 3-1 Win Over Baton Rouge
|
Sacramento and Baton Rouge duked it out and the Redlegs came out victorious.
Sacramento picked up a win at Sacramento Sanitation Station, bumping off the Baton Rouge Brass, 3-1. Pitcher Tom Ward was a major reason the Redlegs emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Ward, now 10-5. He tossed 7.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 8. Chris Evans, who is tied for 4th in the PAAA in saves with 16, nailed down the save.
José Vera chipped in a 2-run home run for Sacramento in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Tom did a good job of managing their lineup," said Sacramento manager Kyle Lucas.
The 9th-place Redlegs lifted their record to 43-57.
