In a low-scoring tilt between the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys and the Baton Rouge Brass, Pete Scott, who is tied for 6th in the PAAA in innings pitched with 128.2, was the difference-maker. The Syracuse right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. In 7.2 innings, Scott surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. James Tucker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 18 save opportunities.

Syracuse took a 2-1 lead on Jason Johnson's 6th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Johnson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Baton Rouge pitcher Spike Cornett visibly frustrated.
