Starks Score Late to Win, 7-5
|
The Syracuse Starks used the hitting of right fielder Mark Doss to subdue the Baton Rouge Brass, 7-5. For the game, Doss was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The 'W' lifts Syracuse's record to 43-57.
Syracuse took the lead, 7-5, on Al Thurman's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Baton Rouge pitcher Sixto Espinosa in the bottom of the eighth.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Doss told the Syracuse Bulletin.
