Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Pennsauken Flyers and Bakersfield Nobles.
The Pennsauken Flyers defeated the Bakersfield Nobles, 3-0, at Pennsauken Park. Pennsauken was led by 27-year old catcher Keith Jones, who went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2. Eugene Pearce picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rick Burnett suffered the loss. Marlon Henderson got the save, his 9th in 12 chances.
Pennsauken took a 2-0 lead on Jones's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which he hit off Rick Burnett in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Pennsauken to the win.
Jones told a Pennsauken Citizen reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
Pennsauken has now won 5 games in a row.
