Hot Chickens Earn 6-4 Win Against Flyers
|
The Nashville Hot Chickens picked up a win at Pennsauken Park, downing the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-4, in 10 innings. On the mound for Nashville was right-hander Takakazu Ishihara, who played a pivotal role in the win. Marlon Anderson, who is tied for 4th in the PAAA in saves with 20, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-5. The losing pitcher was Robert Walls. Steven Boon collected his 6th save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Getsy Eberflus? The 27-year old right fielder Eberflus stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put Nashville up, 6-4. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Nashville manager Paul Dawsey.
Nashville now sports a record of 43-59.
