Ronald Fritz, who finished 4th in the PL in strikeouts with 148 in 2055, never let the Patriots get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Athletic Club KC to a win, 3-0. The winning pitcher was Fritz, now 2-3. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 6. Elton Ray finished to wrap up his 9th save.
Banu Judham had a direct impact on the outcome. Judham contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put Athletic Club KC up, 1-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Fritz, "and today was a good one for us."
The last-place Athletic Club KC own a record of 17-32.
