Hill, Sacramento Prevail in Pitchers' Duel
|
The Sacramento Redlegs received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Jack Hill, allowing them to bump off the Bakersfield Nobles, 2-1. Ryan Hurley nailed down his 18th save. With the win, the Redlegs have a record of 59-43.
Hill, who dominated for Sacramento, earned the victory to move to 14-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 8. Bakersfield batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"Some games build character," said Sacramento manager Luis Ríos. "Like this one."
