The New Orleans Voodoo could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Teika Fukuda into a win. Instead, the Ft. Worth Cattlemen prevailed, 5-4. Fukuda threw 5.1 innings allowing 3 runs. Marc Potts, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Glen Keetley? The 30-year old third baseman Keetley stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Ft. Worth up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Both teams played hard," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
