The New Orleans Voodoo beat the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 5-2. New Orleans pitcher and Cole Bay, Sint Maarten, native Volmer Aalbers led the way. Aalbers, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 5.2 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. Ron Ward was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.

New Orleans relied on the bat of Francisco De La Cruz to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-0. For the game, De La Cruz had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We're our own worst enemy right now," said Pittsburgh skipper Tyler Johnson.

Pittsburgh is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 9 in a row.
