Grey Wolves Defeat Athletic Club KC, 6-3
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves dealt the Athletic Club KC a 6-3 loss at Wolf Den in Vancouver. Gerald Riley was the star on offense. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jorge Souza earned the win for Vancouver. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Athletic Club KC is 4-2 after the loss.
Riley contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Vancouver in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Riley took a fastball from Conor March and stroked the double to left-center. His 2nd double of the season allowed the Grey Wolves to leap in front, 3-2.
"We take it day by day here," said Riley, "and today was a good one for us."
