Rainbow Mermaids Sunk by White Walkers
|
The Buffalo White Walkers topped the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 6-3, in United States Premier League action at Beyond the Wall. The game was highlighted by the performance of Buffalo pitcher Gilberto Cruz. The White Walkers move to 30-22 with the win, while the Rainbow Mermaids drop to 25-27.
Godspower Nwawuihe had a big 2-run double for the White Walkers in the bottom of the second inning. With Buffalo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a splitter from Chris Jackson, who is tied for 10th in the PL in quality starts with 6, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the White Walkers ahead, 4-1.
"Gilberto gave us everything he had," said Buffalo manager Chris Lau.
