The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids knocked off the Buffalo White Walkers, 9-2, at Beyond the Wall. António García was a big reason Northern Virginia won. The shortstop went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. With the win, Northern Virginia has a record of 26-27. Buffalo falls to 30-23.
The Rainbow Mermaids benefited from a costly error in the top of the third. With António Merano at bat and Northern Virginia leading 2-1, the Buffalo miscue allowed Northern Virginia to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.
Said losing manager Chris Lau: "Give the Rainbow Mermaids credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
