Shredders Stick Thunder with 6-5 Loss
The Hollywood Shredders defeated the Toronto Thunder, 6-5, in part because of right fielder Esteban Ortega. Ortega went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Shredders. Chris Johnston, the winning pitcher, improved to 5-7. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 2. Kyle Chambers recorded his 3rd save for Hollywood.

Stanley Johnston cracked a home run off Devin Hancock in the bottom of the fifth. His 2-run blast put the Shredders on top, 4-3. In all, Johnston had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We found a way to get it done," Ortega said.

Hollywood now sports a record of 26-28.
