Rainbow Mermaids Claim 7-4 Triumph
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids downed the Seattle Rocketeers, 7-4, at Atlantica. Mike Joseph led the way, going 2-for-5 for Northern Virginia. Noud Taaij, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 3. Rob Camp earned the save for Northern Virginia, his 1st.

With Northern Virginia leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Joseph hit a slider from Jason Cox for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 3-0.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Joseph told the Northern Virginia Observer.

Seattle now is 4-2.
