Rainbow Mermaids Get Hard-Earned Win
|
Though he had a stellar game, Chong-hun Chon could not prevent his team, the Seattle Rocketeers, from losing, 5-4, to the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids. Chon went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The 6th-place Rainbow Mermaids hiked their record to 26-30.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Northern Virginia trailing 4-3, Rashid Qutaybah hit a fastball from Adam Shirley to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Rainbow Mermaids had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," said Qutaybah.
