Boosted by the 4-hit performance of Bill Meeks, who is tied for 7th in the PL in hits with 60, the Boston Patriots defeated the Hollywood Shredders, 4-1. Boston pitcher Aaron Daniels earned the win, hiking his record to 1-1. Bob Kelso suffered the loss. Getting the save was Iiri Lahti, his 5th.
Dave Powell had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the first for Boston. With the bases loaded and the Patriots leading 1-0, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Patriots manager Brian Fahie, "I like our chances."
This win makes it 6 in a row for Boston.
