7-1 Rainbow Mermaids Win over Bullets Evens Season Record
The Baltimore Bullets went down to defeat to Noud Taaij and his Northern Virginia teammates. The final score was 7-1, in favor of the Rainbow Mermaids. Taaij, now 6-5, was the winner. In 8.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Northern Virginia is 28-28 and Baltimore, with the loss, 22-34.

The Rainbow Mermaids got an important contribution from center fielder James Murphy, who in the bottom of the first hit a 1-2 slider to center for a run-scoring double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 2-0.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Baltimore manager Chris Schubert.
