Shredders Lose By a Run at Long Island
|
Starting pitcher Bernardo Rivera pitched well enough to help the Long Island Lighthouse beat the Hollywood Shredders, 4-3. Long Island reliever Thomas Rice was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was José Salinas. The defeat makes Hollywood 2-4.
Long Island took a 4-3 lead on Jesús Serrano's 1st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Serrano hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Hollywood pitcher Félix Hernández visibly frustrated.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Hollywood manager Bill Cheese.
