Hollywood Picks Up Another L
|
The Toledo Stingers beat the Hollywood Shredders, 9-5, at Pacesetter Park. Toledo right fielder Viet Long, who finished 2nd in the PL in stolen bases with 27 last year, collected 1 single and 1 double with 2 RBI. Sam Myers, who finished 2nd in the PL in saves with 23 in 2061, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-4. The losing pitcher was Clarence Butler. Gil Dunn picked up the save for Toledo, his 4th of the year.
Don Weaver helped out the Toledo cause in the bottom of the seventh inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the second baseman went 1-3.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Hollywood skipper TJ Reynolds.
The Stingers have now reeled off 7 straight wins.
