Eclipse Knock Off Pilgrims, 5-4
|
The Northville Eclipse defeated the Providence Pilgrims by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Setiawan Pakpahan. Pakpahan went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Eclipse on the day. Claudio Núñez, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 1-0. Picking up his 1st save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher Patrick Wilder.
Pakpahan had a timely hit for Northville in the top of the sixth. With Northville trailing 4-3, he turned a 0-2 cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 5-4, Northville.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Pakpahan told the Northville News.
